Illegal Building Works

With the advent of Google Earth, Councils are now a lot more sophisticated in tracking or spying on properties to determine whether there have been any structures built illegally or without permits on your property. Should Council issue a Building Notice for illegal works after you sign the Contract (even if it is before settlement) the responsibility falls on you to rectify the works regardless of whom the builder was. It is for this reason that we strong recommend that you consider purchasing Title Insurance to protect yourself after settlement should this occur.
